Help, Looking for a...

on Mon Mar 27, 2017 4:28 pm
Renault five circa 1980/1984 ish

Been offered the chance to buy back my old Gordini Turbo, but the body is so far gone it's well beyond saving.

All the other parts are retrievable so I am looking for a 5 with a reasonable body. Don't need engine or any of that.

This shape:

And 3 door... Left or right hand drive, no problem, long as it will roll onto a trailer.

Eyes peeled thank you Wink

I checked and Renault 5's all look like luxury models that make my car look cheap. Erm 3000 gbp the cheapest one.

My first car was a Renault 5. A 1988 F 1.2 TR. Loved it. This was back in 2000/1.
Sadly the bloke who bought it from me was killed in a motorbike accident not long after.

3 door will be the problem - plenty of 5 doors on French classic sites if you google 'Renault 5 a vendre'.

Thank you Tom, yes, plenty 5dr models.... Problem being the Alpine (Gordini in the UK thanks to Chryslers shonky same name model) is a 3dr model. But valued at a ridiculous twelve grand Shocked

Coupla 1.7GTX on eBay under a grand current bidding. They look like the newer shape though

Is it worth doing?

There's a guy selling a GT with starting bid £2850 which requires finishing

Nothing personal matey, but it seems no one takes in what I say these days.

Andoo to Doc - my shoulder really hurts and my knee too, and the bit where the bone was twisted until it snapped is giving me pain, especially at night!

Doc - How's your foot?

Andoo - It hurts too, but not as much as my shoulder, knee and leg

Doc - we'll see you in a hundred years time...

Mad Mad Mad

I went into the BP yesterday handed over my Nectar card and stated: "It doesn't work, you need to scan it!"

I know I said that because I was there when I said it!

So she took the card, poked it in the reader and it didn't work!

Then she wondered why I gave her "the look" Rolling Eyes

The fuuuck????

Do I just imagine I said words and stuff?

Er, it is in Portugal though and you didn't say what the budget was!

It's perhaps the only present option!
