New experience - kind of

on Fri May 19, 2017 6:18 pm
Old friends are going on a cruise from Southampton on Sunday - I volunteered to drive them as Bob has just had a cataract operation...and to pick them up on return...about 3 hours each way depending on M25 and M3.

Had a wee trial in his Citroen C5 2.2 HDi diesel auto this afternoon - seems quite brisk except I need to give a bit more time getting into roundabouts - it has a Sport button but he has never used it - hope to find out on Sunday...also has a plus minus manual gearchange function - will try that when they are on the ship and out of hearing of the gearbox noises.

Have had me added to his LV insurance - no charge when I talked to them on the phone - not sure if IAM and RoSPA helped.

Must print on my hand in felt tip pen...

That should keep you out of trouble for a day, or two!

I'd do the same just to keep myself occupied, also burning up some else's petrol or diesel and rubber might be fun too

I once drove my boss and family to Paddington station with more stuff in his Citroen wagon diesel than could have fitted in a taxi. Then promptly drove his car to Wales and delivered it back to him empty. Didn't seem to faze him though...

I bet it'll be an alright steer actually ...

Other people's cars are always fun for the novelty factor ...

Enjoy your drive VFC, can't remember the ferry port exactly but there's a semi nice area at Town Quay with a few cafes

It's a nice area for a stroll along

There is Ikea just before West Quay by the big John Lewis with its obvious source of big queues, furniture and cheap food

Selling Southampton as "being a neighbour of Sandbanks" would be more than stretching the truth even for an estate agent Laughing
