I find the XF more pleasing than the XE. The XE is very trim and colour dependant...but the XF always looks that bit better IMO.

Speaking of which...Hugh...have you seen the new XF Sportbrake? One for the future, perhaps? (if they do a bhp nutter version)

There is an XF R-S in estate form. Includes the Smurf blue one. Rapid car and a great way to make a labrador incontinent!

Black wheels and Trims ....

Looked quite coupe like too ....

When I pulled up next to it though - quite clearly a diesel ...

A 2 litre diesel - the single exhaust gives it away. I think they're 200 bhp. Made to attract the fleet buyers.

Rather tasty. However, top engine at moment is 'only' the 300PS 3.0 diesel.

300PS! Just imagine.....

New sports back looks quite nice; lots will go for the 3 Litre V6 Derv. Not sure if they plan to put the 5L S/C in though.....

Big engines are really not flavour of the month....

I've seen a fair bit about this over the last couple of days! Very nice, if a little pricey.

Now, imagine of the XFR was made out of aluminium (and not steel), with a remap and shorter pulley (600 bhp) and a manual gearbox!!! Would probably break the 4 second 0-60 barrier....

But to be honest I'm more than happy with it as it is. A neighbour came over last night and commented how much nicer it sounded compared to the SV8. On the road the 50-70mph performance (1.8 seconds!) is blistering when you need to overtake.

I've found myself using the BMW more and more recently, not sure why, just seems to have panned out that way ... and to have power and practicality is hugely appealing at the moment....

Just like my mate with the Porsche, it wouldn't be that way if it wasn't as practical as it is.
