Speshul Day???

on Sat Jun 17, 2017 9:13 am
Just put Mary on the train for London - she is with our daughter to see the Trooping the Colour ceremony from the terrace of the Royal Society as a guest.

She took my camera to try for a selfie with her favourite Prince Harry - and promised to wave to me if he gets on a TV camera. (I AM joking!)

I am invited to a BBQ in a friends garden as the fly past goes right over our village - noisy gits usually

I believe that day is next weekend for my town.

However, the Swiss air force is a little less spectacular and we don't have a royal society. just a Swiss society.

I will see how it is...

Would you beleive - the Red Arrows gave us a wee puff of clour trails as they passed over the village - just tetsting I suppose...photographers here got great shots and a few videos - wish I could post them.

Nice day - nice cold Sauvignon Blanc...Mary had a feast at the function in London - too hot to bring a doggy bag though...

Nice - my B-i-L has a house in Thurleigh Rd, just across the common. Paid a similar amount about 4 years ago. Fab houses.

How far away are you from here LK? When I'm next up would be good to catch up. You can see the Jag!

At the risk of sounding like a stupid thick poor Northerner (which i am, admittedly)...

Like...that house is lovely. But is it a £4.4M house? No.

Well, yes, but nowhere else in the country.

It's all relative innit

If you have a job that's pays you an amount to live in London at that kind of money then that's what you do

A lot of London "property millionaires" bought property before prices went ballistic

For example a good friend lives in a house in north London worth over a million, it's a standard 3 bed terraced house. He's not wealthy but his job needs him to be in London and I'd guess his first purchase was a more reasonable £200k some time ago but they way prices have gone up he's pretty much mortgage free

He won't be "well off" until he can cash out and move out

I see what you are saying...but wouldn't you agree that the prices can be ....stupid?!!

The demand must be there...but....it's crazy.

The price you pay is easy to justify, because it' will be appreciating.

You could argue that buying a nice car is for the stupid - as it will only depreciate.

The rich get richer, because he'll probably cash out in 10 years time, and go and buy an amazing house just in the appreciation.

Re. His job - runs his own telecommunications business ..... crazy how people get themselves in to these positions in virtually no time at all.

I think it's great that he's done well for himself and his famil, genuinely, fair play to him and that he can afford the lifestyle, kinda thing.

I suppose it's just cos like....4.4M.....you can literally get ..

Well, for £1.2M LESS - http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-48031848.html

or....http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-60218029.html - with 254 acres...

Or for closer to £5M.... http://www.rightmove.co.uk/property-for-sale/property-48031890.html

There is no comparison!

I'm talking about VFM kinda thing....i know all of the above will be useless if you need to live in London.

LK the appreciation thing isn't guaranteed we could see a 20% slide in value over 12 months. However that's only a problem if you need to cash out at that point...

Even if you you've saved by not renting at ££££'s per week though..

Agree crisps you can get more for your money elsewhere, I live 60mins or so from London because is what I can afford BUT I have to be close enough to commute in when required. I could move further out and get more for my money BUT I'd then have to stay over in hotels and see less of the kids some weeks (not always a bad thing)

house prices is London have peaked in my opinion......wait for brexit, wait for the cunty bankers to fall off their pedestals, its only going one way - an i for one will be laughing my tits off

p.s. the car analogy has always been as such, you cant use that one Wink

p.p.s, i'd MUCH rather live in crix's examples than shitty smog ridden, congested-to-fark, terrorist hub London
