Stunt driving course

Here are the results.

What amazing fun.

Basically learnt how to hand brake turn into a parking space, and J turn ..... Both not too tricky when you've tried it a few times ... and amazing fun.
Car was an old MX5, and I loved it - would love to have a cheap one as another car and take it to some auto trials.

Drift limits also had a 911GT2, Lamborghini Gallardo, Audi R8, Ariel Atom and other stuff you can take around the track, but I didn't in the end.

They make it quite cheap to add on additional drives, so top tip - buy the cheapest experience to get you there, then top up when you get there - much cheaper.

So MX5 - 1 ..... 911 - 0 ...... The journey there was awful- the 911 is noisy and uncomfortable on the M25, and the air con is out of gas ..... Only 3 weeks til Spa, so i hope that gets sorted.

The last few times in the 911, and me and my mate have both decided either we're getting too old for it, or its starting to feel very old ... It is 12 years old now, and its starting to show .... Can't see me buying it given I'd have to use it everyday for work ...

So, the choices will fall as follows.

Mercedes E Class convertible - I just wish they made another petrol engine - don't want a diesel, and the petrol choices are limited.

But now, maybe I should just keep the 1 series, and buy an MX5 - i could use it for work sometimes, maybe do the odd auto cross or track day in it, and generally just have fun in one ..... I really did quite like it .... Mind, never got out of first, second and reverse gears !!!! Lol.

Oh, at Goodwood I drove an Audi Q7 around their off road track ... I think the next 'experience' might be an off road one.

The more 'experiences' I do, it makes you realise that there are so many different cars, which are good at different tasks ... and as Basil is finding out, a road car has its own attributes which you can enjoy.

Elaborate about the MX5, Paula!

LK, sounds good. I had a drift experience last year...but it was so bad and terribly unorganised that i dont think i ever mentioned it. It was really bad and people were leaving part way through the day, they were so unhappy.

Sounds like yours was a better one.

And also...it finally sounds like you might be going off the 911. Hurrah! I dont mean hurrah in the sense that you SHOULD be going off it...i mean hurrah in the sense that it's better that you go off it NOW before you buy it and decide you dont like it!

Still an epic car ... and I'd love it .. but as a passenger its pretty ropey ... and I want a car the family can enjoy, and that we'd use ...

Kinda feel that the 911 thing is out of my system now ... and that an E class convertible actually fits my needs much better.
