Great work old boy! Good to see you using the VW for a weekend of sausage jousting in a tent....

Good video, I watched all the London to Spa part the rest was a little boring for me. Apart from the crashed car and helicopter in the same minute, I skipped though. Not many scantily clad women like you see on the youtube videos of mud runs in the USA. So a little disappointing there too.

Also some rather nice cars! Including that rather nice Tesla X.

Was there a Tesla X? It's suppose to be 24 hours, not a few minutes running at high speed, then 30 minutes charging.

Two Porsche related facts ....

1. The 911 is not a good long distance cruiser - the power and high speed stability is amazing - but the road noise is truly wearing.

2. The Macan is arguably my new favourite 'I would like to buy' Porsche. Even around the Spa paddocks, plenty of Macans, and they look brilliant (although the occasional diesel badge is a let down). Guy opposite my work has a turbo S, or something, but its got the sports exhaust, and it sounds and goes amazingly !!!

Enjoyed watching that, thanks.

I have an air-tent now. handbrake to cup of coffee 23 minutes, not bad for a 5 berth.

Glad you liked it.

Probably a bit too long, as the Actress said to the Bishop, but hopefully gives you an idea of the trip - its a worthwhile weekend.

That tent takes 2 double beds, and actually surprisingly easy to erect, said the Actress to the Bishop !!

If you'd asked you could have taken the Jag old boy....

Indeed. I expect it would be perfect for such a trip?

You reckon the Jag would be able to keep up?!

On the one hand its mostly motorway, if you worked it hard enough, you could keep up in a Fiat 500 ....

On the other hand the Jag would eat us for breakfast - the 911 isn't slow, but its not the fastest thing in the World

I would also join the convey coming from the south, I can drive at night and stuff so no problem keeping up. I have a sleeping bag, but no tent.

I must confess, I really don't understand 911s. What are the ones I should avoid? Are there visible differences should I take part in some Porsche worrying?

Porsche 911 are very easy to understand. A long long time ago Ferdinhand came up with a good design and Porsche tried to change, but never managed it.

With the exceptions of the turbo's they all need loads of revs ...

Bear in mind they are only ever 6 cylinders ..

They are predominantly sports cars - handling over outright speed

LK have you tried the 997 Gen2 Carrera 4S with PDK box?

A former colleagues had two now I believe, I went in his 55 plate Carrera S and it was rapid

Nope, although I have driven a turbo with PDK.

Oh, even the standard Carrera is quick - but the lack of a super or turbo charger, means it does need revs.
