Whose turn next?

on Fri Aug 11, 2017 10:19 am
So its been owned by Spot and then me - who wants to buy the TT next?

Still enjoy driving it but my mileage is going up soon and at 14yrs old i'm not keen on destroying the car. I'm still considering garaging it in place of the kit car... Not sure though, both cars were something i'd always wanted so difficult to lose either really

No idea what i'd replace it with either, must have 4 seats and slightly more leg room in the back. Not too bothered about mpg for the right car, for instance found an A4 convertible 3.2 V6 last night. Notreally wanting to spend more than 5-6k limits the options on either age or interestingness

Saw a 07 ish plate Golf GTI this morning, I think something like that is a possibility...

TT is at ATS having a puncture repaired and check of the exhaust rattle

Puncture / not puncture fixed - same rim that was slightly iffy when you had it Spotula needing resealing again

No issues found with exhaust, engine mount or drop links on the rattle so that's good in a way

Indeed. Apologies LK - very bad of me. More so as a Teaching Professional.

Please don't show your wife.

LK's Mrs might be the right person to buy the TT its perfect for carrying kids (& LK) and already has scratches on the alloys so no need to worry about those

If it was in Crixternomics price territory, I'd surely buy it.

I think I'd get £2500 for it, it's in pretty decent shape for a 14yr old 95,000 mile motaaaa

Not much wrong with it LK

It's 14yrs old, there's a few bodywork scratches that would polish out. The alloys need a refurb ideally. It's had new tyres in the last 2k miles and new rear springs about 12 months ago

There's a small oil leak round the rocker cover gasket (I think) and a small rattle at low speed / low revs which was checked and not the exhaust or engine mounts...

Well, I'd happily take it if you wanted it to move on to a good home - and I'd give you £2k for it.

Cheers LK but I think it's worth £2500 and I can't find anything to replace it with at the moment

If things change I'll let you know

No problems.

It's like I have to tell a lot of my clients .... what it might be worth, and what it is worth, are normally 2 different things - lol.

Vendors always go with the 'might be worth' .... buyers go with what it is worth !!

There are an awful lot of these TT's on the market at the moment

its worth 2.5k any day of the week, its not your typical butchered and ragged affair........i looked at shit loads before settling on that one.

the wheels do need a refurb, but thats, what, 40 quid a corner?.....i'd have it back but A:I haven't got 2.5k spare change at the moment and b: no space!

Let's not forget the oil leak, and low speed rattle - lol.

Add in the money and time saved by not advertising it on auto-time-waster.com ... and £2000 is a win win - hehehe

I'm not a motivated seller so if I do sell it's got to be worth it to me

Still nothing else that comes close to the grin factor for £5k that I've found so far...
