NOW we're farking talking.....bloody mini! pfft

although in all honesty, an 11 year old RS4 would be one hell of a risk!

how about a slightly warmer S4/5/6 as opposed to a hardcore money draining RS.......to be honest though, modern engines are keeping up with old skool S's and RS's.......take a look at the 335d for example - still under 5 seconds to 60 - yes i'm biased - but just saying

That's more like it, Basil (the M235i)

Yes, its unlikely I'll be buying a 10+ year old RS4. Fast Audis always look good one paper, but are poor to drive - so I can't see me going that route in all honesty

I still keep coming back to a used E350cdi Mercedes convertible - loved that one I had that time ... its just the whole diesel thing .... and I would really rather the 2013 onwards facelift.

Basil - did you drive an E Class Convertible with the smaller engine - if so, what was it? Was it any good??   (not that i'd buy a 4 cylinder diesel  - if I've got issues now, then that'd push me over the edge) lol.

I may well shift the BMW on, and buy a cheap VW UP!, or Polo, or Golf, or Focus, or something just to get me out of it, and in a position to buy the next thing, because selling mine (privately), and having time to look around at second hand cars, is just not happening. I got offered £14,800 for my car recently, but reckon as a trade in I'd be more like £12,800.

yes, i drove the 220cdi convertable.........VERY nearly did the deal too except they wouldnt drop it by 300 quid, so i walked.

it was a lovely motor....but....in reality, the 335d is miles ahead in every way barr looks. the merc had incredibly light steering and no feel through it at all (over assisted) you can tell its tailored for the wafter rather than the driver. the interior was dated in comparison to the BMW, it had the old merc system that i recall from driving a sprinter in 2012, that shitty yellow tinged affair...very archaic in comparison to iDrive (the new merc system isnt much better IMO)

i wish i had tested the 350 as i imagine its a different world, nows the time to buy i guess, they wont be shifting many with winter round the corner.

What ever you get, LK, it needs at least 300bhp.
