I would just be making random guesses. On my phone from that picture I can't even tell you what part of the car it is.

I’m assuming it’s still a BMW so will take a random stab at a BMW 5 series

I also get a whiff of BMW. Hmm.. where to go after a 3-series saloon... 3-series coupe or even 4-series? Maybe even M3/M4 with a bit of luck?

I see a front wheel and filler cap.

Therefore it's a rear engine Porsche.

I got it!

I don’t think it’s a filler cap - I think it’s a charging port - 330e or whatever it’s called ?

Yeah, and I am sure they are on the other side.

That leaves the i8 - but again, i’m pretty sure the flap is on the other side .... just like all BMW’s as far as I am aware ....

Very confused -

oh jeez no, a huge 4x4 on flatlands UK

No, Crix got it in milliseconds, Huge got it....

2017 BMW i3 94h extended range. with a few extra's which i had to have, Pro nav (big screen) harmon kardon sound system, LED lights.

basically, my job changed and i will be getting a company van again, so no need for a hulking great 3 litre and back to an occasional car, well....the i3 fills the bill.....i LOVE the idea of EV motoring.

Dont get me wrong, parting with the 335xd was hard as its a brilliant car (minus the non m-sport suspension because of xdrive - which was shit) and the engine is easily the best derv on the market.....but changes had to be made.

plus....when i'm away all week using my company vehicle, my brother will use the i3 to commute 40 miles each day.

cost?.......i'd rather not go in to it Very Happy

Sensible choice and a glimpse of how motoring will be in the future. Smile

I was looking at Vauxhall Amperas the other day - a flop sales wise but can be had for second-hand Astra money. I'm still waiting for the Tesla Model S P100D to fall within budget, personally... could be a while!!

paul, the power is great in the i3, sales bloke said it was faster to 30 than the M4, with its instant torque......but i actually think 30-60 is where its most impressive - it really rockets (for a washing machine)

This will be very interesting. Spot spends the rest of his life driving electric and living the dream. Or does he trade it in for Hugh's V8 petrol.

I know what I bet on..

Very Happy

Surely the cost to change far exceeds any savings or is this some clever lease deal?

Spot in an electric car. Times have changed.

its just under £50 a month more than the 335, my brother spends £35 a week in fuel to commute to work (he has a Mini one D) so that alone will help, its only 40 miles a day, so even with contingency/extra trips here and there, we're looking at a charge every other day (at about £2 a fill).........it had to be viable or i wouldn't have done it.

oh...and i've been quite vocal about my desire to own an EV Very Happy

It's a real test this one. Does Spot become an EV owner forever or does he lacks back to mineral resources after all.

It's some what like to the hitch hikers guide to the galaxy. Only I forgot the answer to everything.

lets face it, there's no chance of getting a tesla model 3 at 35k for some time........and the model S's are too pricey.

Oh, interesting - I thought you’d said no to an i3 ... must have mid-read it.

Good you got the range extender, unless your brother wants to awkward call to the office to say he forgot to plug his car in last night Smile

So, how long did you have the 335, and what did you lose on it??

I would have thought if you only need a weekend car, you could have gone less practical - or more !!!

I’ve been in an i3, and it’s a blooming hard ride.

Fair play for giving one a shot - but from my limited experience in one, it’d much rather have a Mini D.
