So where next .....

on Fri Feb 09, 2018 2:50 pm
With the BMW gone, here’s where we are.

I have a 10 year old Audi A3 with the following pro’s and con’s.

++  It’s cheap, fast and good fun. Ideal for work, and ferrying the kids around.

— It’s got issues, including broken air conditioning, so it might end up being a money pitt.

So, where to go from here ....

1. Get the Audi fixed up, and it’ll still be very cheap motoring.
2. Buy a better car - but what ??
3. Finally use this chance to run the 911 for a year or two. Running costs may be high, but cheaper than most other cars depreciation.
4. Lease a car - stressfree motoring, but at the expense of expense.

Where do we go from here ??

On a side note, the Audi has made me a lot less fearful of age and mileage on a car ..... other than the broken air con, it’s been faultless so far.

Keep the audi, fix the air con in time for summer

plus, potential house purchasers will note that you are not in an expensive car and will think 'i'm so glad this bloke didn't turn up in a Porsche, i like the cut of his gib'

I quite fancy a Alfa Giulia, with tan leather, but the prices are still very high .... £20k+ still, which means next stop depreciation City !!!

Now that the Germans dominate so much, there is very little flair out there at the moment ....

Quite fan something a little different next time.

Whilst the 911 appeals, it’s not very practical with the kids and my short journeys ....

Whilst keeping the Audi seems sensible ... now i’ve turned Fort .... err ..... Thirty ..... I feel the need to kick on again with a decent car, but as said .... want something with a bit of flair - maybe time to consider the E Class convertible again ...

Here we go again guys!... Wink

Actually, to add - I haven't heard great things about Guilia reliability, sadly. Same old Alfa story. They are also pretty expensive.
