Summer Breeze

on Fri Feb 16, 2018 11:36 am
so, i now have the i3, which is brilliant........BUT (hah, there's always a but)......its not being driven by me, i have a company vehicle again now.....so my brother uses it monday-friday - great!........but the 350 a month its costing me is hardly rewarding in any way, other than weekend scooting.

so

talking with my bro the other night and i said 'stevo, how about we trade your mini one D(irection) in for something fun for the summer, a soft top roadster, as i miss the thrill of the 370, i get to blast around in it on sunny weekends and have the option of the i3 if i need it, meanwhile he continues to use the i3 for cheap commuting.

he agreed, so i reckon his one D(irection) is worth 5k, its a 2012 D with chilli willy pack and Works body kit, it also has sat nav etc

so what 2 seater roadster do you think is available for 5-7k?

A bit long in the tooth, but that budget would get a nice S2000. Smile

Or a Boxster 3.2?

Z4 with a big engine?

WTF??!?!?!

And i get berated for changing cars often!!??!!

(i assume your bro is paying you the fees for the i8?) If you're subbing him £370 a month then thats being a helluva brother!

But anyway.

Well....i'm gonn say...get a BMW Z4. £5-7k should get a decent one, if a few years old.

Even the 2.5 one i driove was tremendous (light, fun, quick, sounded great), so the 3.0 should be brill.

You get a nice low down proper sporty driving position, i persoally liked the interior (although it was cheap feeling) and you can feel you have the rear wheels right behind your arse.

I've also driven the next Z4 after that (still current model?) which was also great. But i dont think they'll be down to those values yet.

Indeed - in half a second less than that the XFR is doing 100!!! But off the mark it's not too bad at all. Has a real feel good air about it.

Basil,

Just on the i3 .... seems to be getting very popular around here now ... definitely more around, and definitely a lot more charging points around - and I love the idea of free fuel !!!!

Anyway, what are the servicing costs like ??
