Nothing can compare.

on Thu Apr 05, 2018 9:22 pm
Well I'm sorry everyone but none of your cars can compare to the one my mates just got.

I am utterly flabbergasted and it's come out of the blue.

It's a 2008 Audi RS6 Avant 5.0 V10 - modified - to 730bhp!

I've seen the car in action but didn't know he was getting it.

If/when I get a ride in it....I'll let you know.

Well exactly! Neither of the above and I've pleaded with him to protect the car as it's gonna be a huge theft magnet!

Nooo. Remap and change of pulley for the XFR, but that will only take it to 595BHP.......

Undrivable by about 200 BHP, I expect, with the traction control on.

Wow, but... is there much point? Apart from the willy waving aspect of owning such a powerful car, you can't exactly use that power on the road and I expect you'd have to be quite careful you don't lose your licence with any jab of the accelerator!

Brave too - they are quite expensive to run (or was that the earlier RS6?)

I know a guy with an RS6, his 3rd in fact. Current one is the V8T which is nice but doesn't sound as good as his previous one, a V10. I remember when he sold his first one, that was remapped to over 600 bhp IIRC. New owner wrote it off within a couple of weeks.

Any saloon / estate car over 500 BHP can only very rarely give it full beans - only on a warm, dry, day and on a straight. With all driving aids turned off, on a public road can be very dangerous. I never turn everything off - healthy fear of death!

Agreed Tom....it's like...too much for the road and is surely a willy waving thing. However, he is quite sensible and mature.
And yes. I've read very scary reports o things like perishing cooling pipes (i think) which require a full engine removal which is a massive, massive job. Fuel will be terrifying. Insurance must be a fortune.

Worst thing about RS6 is the fact it’s fast and four wheel drive ... so speed is your only excitement.

In even a Golf GTI, or Hughs Jag .... the fact they are two wheel drive means you have to think more, and can have more fun than just pure speed.

I bet the RS6 is fun when pinning you to your seat, but I bet that on most drives a Golf GTI would be more fun.

I think it's a bit of a stretch to say 4wd = no fun. Impreza, Evo, integrale, GTR, Skyline, RS4 etc all have 4wd and no one would suggest they weren't good fun.

A Tesla can pin you back into the seat much better; rather than doing it in short bursts through the gears, they just hold you there. I've had a couple of trips in my friend's X in Ludicrous mode. It rearranges your internal organs! The silence is eerie!

Crixio was that RS6 on eBay recently?

I’ve seen a very similar descriptionnot so long ago and sounded absolutely mental. The kind of thing which would be fun to have looking normal then floor it as some muppet tries to overtake vroom vroom

Possibly. I think he knows the person he got it from and it's maybe been on the cards for a while. I know there'll be many about that have been modded as such (as if they aren't powerful enough as they are!
But Huge knows...that even obscene amounts of power....aren't enough?

Please note! This does not affect the hierarchy of the forum of course! As the car does not belong to a forum member.

However, if it was my car, you'd all immediately have to get down and suck!

My Jaguar with it's 297bhp is mad when TC is off.

I think for the sheer amount of bhp I win with my top trump total of 886bhp Twisted Evil

RR = 187
Jaguar = 297
Doblo = 177
Citroen = 110
Suzuki Burgman = 54
Suzuki Alto = 61

Hee hee Razz

RR V8 only has 187 bhp?

My family total is a paltry 129+231 = 360bhp.

Our 'fleet' can only summon up a paltry 90+67 = 157bhp.

Andoo, the burgman cant have 54bhp can it? That sounds like a lot.

Teeps, yep, it's almost American! A 4.0 V8 with less bhp than a blender, but makes up for it in torque Cool

Crix, it's the specs. Probably BHP per tonne or something, I don't know how bikes are measured. But it's quick off the mark, even with me on board. Missed it in Cyprus with all that lovely sunshine, would have been ideal Very Happy

247 + 82 = 329 bhp

Wife needs something more powerful! Her Fiesta is quite nice to drive, but damn it is gutless!

Agreed. The 1.25 used to be a nippy lovely thing in the 95-02 Fiesta but weight gains and emission mapping strangularities have somewhat spoiled it from a performance POV.
