Car reboot

on Tue Apr 10, 2018 5:39 pm

Thinking to give my ECU a reboot.

Reason I changed the wheels myself from Winter to Summer, a real workout, I bought a better jack than the car one so I thought safe enough.

Anyhoo the codes in these wheels are not the same, so it needs to forget and re learn hence the ECU reboot. The TPMS Tyre Pressure Monitor System light is on all the time.

Reading on the web it's a 30 minutes without power from the battery. And the ECU forgets all.

What do you think? I'm not sure the shop I bought the wheels and put the kit on them didn't do this. It ran a bit rough right afterwards....

I have reset button and tried as per google it didn't work.

I used to re-boot the Mini Cooper S from time to time, and it used to reset the throttle response, etc, until it learnt your driving style.

Personally, I'm not sure what you will gain out of it.
