Good news!

on Thu Apr 19, 2018 10:32 am
It the Dacia Sandero!

No, it's just the news that my air con still works!

Until yesterday, it's generally been so cold here that i've been unable to tell if it worked....

But yesterday in the balmy 19/20c i put it on and it was nice!

It's not very cold though so hopefully a quick regas will improve matters.

The coldest AC i have experienced remains in a 2009ish Mercedes B180CDi customer car. I drove the car back to the customers house and it was a warm day, i set the ac to max coldness and it was like an actual artic blast coming through the vents! I remember getting a headache within 1 minute and my left hand shattered into shards of icy bone as i went to turn it back off.

You're doing better than me then, mate .... no cold air on my car at the moment.

On another note .... I REALLY like the Dacia Sandero ..... it just looks like a good sized, good looking, honest little car.

I would strongly consider buying one if I was in the market for that sort of thing ..... I'd take a white one, with the black wheel arches, etc.

Just like the white Skoda Fabia I had as a hire car years ago ... I like these basic little cars.

Yep, there's something appealling about very cheap basic cars....

I had my Aircon serviced the other week - lovely. I also had a cooled seat on the way home yesterday; chilled air up through the perforated leather. Even made my breath cold!

Car reading is wrong, methinks.

Indeed. The air temperature may only be 25 degrees but a metal object siyting in direct sun can easily get too hot to touch. Depending on where exactly thr temperature measurement sits it's quite plausible that it could get hotter thsn you'd expect.

it was 27c here and in London yesterday, it never changed all the way down the M1

I had the roof off in the 2, but the air-con on my feet, was lovely.

Yes. Apparently the top temp in UK yesterday was 29*C in South East. Hottest day in April since 1949, i think?

My car had been sitting and it said 24 inside....but yes, when moving it dropped back down to 20/21ish.

Bike parked at mates garage for less than an hour, it was showing 26 degree's C, which is about right is his garage is surrounded on 3 sides and is a proper sun trap with no wind.

Soon as we started moving it came back down to 19.5 degree's C where it sat resolute all the way home (12 miles) and the moving air on the bike was just great.

I have found the temp sensor on the bike extremely accurate (I have no idea where it sits, but is never affected by the engine heat) especially when riding in the cold weather. When it's like 2 or 3 degree's C, it show's it so you can take steps to avoid ice and the like.

Rode home from Aberdeen a few weeks ago (when got it MOT'd) and it was 3 degree's pretty much the whole way home, rain, sleet and biting wind... Brrrr No

I've been to Aberdeen (my uncle used to live there, Kingswells i think the place was called). Nairn in a caravan. On a site right near some sand dunes. Inverness, to visit some scary Scottish bloke with lovely hospitality and generosity, and other places.

Air-Con report - it is still working.

Not quite as warm here today as yesterday - but yesterday was very warm - i estimate 24-25 degrees. Probably approx 20/21 today. Still very nice indeed.
