on Sun May 20, 2018 11:16 am
Gave the car a quick wash and buff this morning. The colour is growing on me.

To get a glaze like that on George is going to cost £700 and take a week 😳

Shine kind of glass coat polish that gets built up. However, the guy who does these things is mate of mine. Every time I get George washed he says he can't believe it's so clean (as in rust free, obviously...).

That is a nice colour Huge, kind of a leccy blue 💙

Looking great !!!

Amazing weekend of weather, and my BMW is still in the garage having the wheels done, and to top it off, the kids have 3 birthday parties to go to - so my weekend wasn’t spent driving my convertible around, but sat is hot and dark church halls and leisure centres !!!

School parties are one of the most painful parts of having kids

Lol, I know the party thing well. 2 hours in the norm.
Just spent 4 hours fitting the bass speaker. What a fark on. Got the wires run in from the headunit to the boot (it isn't going to fit under a seat) which has taken ages. Had to remove the glove box and half the trim along one side of the car. Thankfully the battery is in the boot so no need to run the power cable from the front too. I would have had to run that down the other side as you shouldn't run power and RCA cables together.
I tested it out before running wires and even though it's in the boot it provides plenty of bass, not least because it sucks twice the power of the head unit.
Not finished yet, still need to fit the actual unit itself. Mrs Teeps ran out of patience.

I didn't make he walk, she took the Toyota.

Three kids doesn't make it easy to clear off and do my own thing, at least not for 4 hours.

sub in the boot!, go teeps!........i've always had subs in the boot of my cars, but not in the current one, the hardon system is a belter, i was playing some old school rap out on a drive today (roof down, but windows up)....(you know, like a proper gangster).....and it was thumping!

i always turn it down when i pull up though as i think it makes you look really twattish (i mean more twattish than my normal look)

The sound system in the Picasso is decent. (By decent I mean it sounds half decent to me. It's probably 'shite' in comparison to anything decent.
The system in the 107 is very very poor indeed. Extremely tinny sound with no...depth.

Mrs Teeps is fine. I think if I told her I was going to clear off outside for hours she'd have been a bit more understanding.
I'd rather not fit bass speakers in the boot but it needs it. As standard the system has zero bass. I don't know what BMW were thinking except perhaps that they'd flog a load of Harmon Kardon uogrades. The Focus, Mazda and Toyota all had better sound systems as standard. Even with better speakers the standard locations in the E46 are shite. It's like it's not been designed to produce any bass.
