Sought after

on Sun Jun 03, 2018 7:26 am
This car came in as a part ex. It's a very clean low mileage example of a 2005 Impreza STI Type UK.

I'm not up on my subaru spec knowledge but I gather this must be a fan favourite.

We had 6 offers of an immediate deposit within 24 hrs of the car appearing online (with better pics that mine, of course) (plus more enquiries also) and I think the car has since sold for in the region of £12k.

I drove it, briefly, before it was advertised....and it is what it is...a old skool BOBOBOBOBOBOBO Scooby multi- boost gauged thing.

Very nice ...

I’d strongly consider buying one of these (in black or grey).

When I bought the Lotus, they picked me up from the train station in one ..... and I just loved it’s hardcore and focused nature.

Speaking of which - new Focus RS in grey is one catching my eye at the moment.

Yes, I'm not surprised it sold quickly.
How much did you make on it?

12k for a 13 year old car. A proper future classic if ever I saw it.

Would love to own one one day - but still think the original looks a lot better. A rare combination of fast and (arguably) sensible. The guy across the road's son had a T-reg Turbo 2000 estate a few years ago - the way that thing used to accelerate off the mark was phenominal!!

Except the fact that the company you work for had to make money and survive, and hence you have a job to go to tomorrow ....

(That’s the sort of answer I would get if I said something my company did, didn’t personally make me any money)

Oh yes, I gather it has made a large sum for the company.

Probably paid about £9k for it, and probably could have got more like £15k for it.

Whatever happened to that Focus RS you had in, Crix ?? I think it was about £10k

I don't think the guy was ripped off but I do wonder why he didn't sell privately. He could have done better if he'd done that.
£15k is too high LK for one of these, like this.

I think the trade in value was approx 8k. The customer was happy with that and bought a 67 Plate STI.

Oh nice - well I was looking at these a while ago, and it’s hard to pick up a good one for much less than £15k

I was looking on autotrader though yesterday and when looking at this age and version...I'd still have to slightly disagree. I think if they've got 12k thats probably about right. If that's the case, let's say it is (I don't know yet) then that's a 4k profit as I don't think any work was needed for resale. If that's the case, that's really huge. I think generally on used cars, it's more in the 1-2k mark on average. Probably closer to 1, being realistic. (This is on the range of used cars we sell, higher value stuff elsewhere will likely get more but then they are bigger numbers all round, buy ins etc.

I am sure you are right, Crix ... maybe I was looking at newer ones ....

A black or grey, WRX Spec B (or was it D??) would do me just nicely
