Fuel Range

on Thu Jul 26, 2018 12:12 pm
This probably won't interest anybody other than Crix lol, but I've been trying to drive more steadily and sedately these past few days, trying to maximise the potential economy of the car. Filled up in Bradford last night then drove it 20 miles home to Leeds and managed to get the following range...

Smile

It's a slight improvement over what it usually reads after a fill-up, although it crept up to 777 miles on the motorway on the way to work this morning.

As an aside, it'll be 6 months next month since I got the Vectra - so far I've put 14,000 miles on it (currently sitting on 188,000). For a £350 car it's been a belter. Cheapest car I've ever bought and, thinking about it, of the 9 cars I've owned, it's been the joint most reliable, along with the Almera. Great cars. Smile

This thread is indeed my thing! Thats impressive. More impressive are the miles you are piling on! Youve had it 5 months and put 18,000 miles on??!?! You must have a huge commute?!

This is the Vectra Elite innit. What kind of mpg does it show when the range is that high?

Live in Leeds, work in York, other half in Bingley - the miles soon add up!!

It is indeed, with the 2.2DTi lump. Currently showing 47.4mpg - not the best for a diesel, but it's a solid engine and pulls like a train. A fill-up from the fuel gauge needle being on empty is about £60. Smile

My 2.2 Elite used to do the same mpg as that. Great car, but had to make way for the mighty Avantime!

My BMW is currently displaying 25 mpg. It's actually worse than that because the computer isn't accurate for LPG.

It does sound good and I really struggle not to floor it everywhere.

I know what you mean! I sit in the car and think, today I shall be sensible. Then - BLAT! Averaging 20mpg of late.
