Off to Gaydon

on Sat Aug 04, 2018 6:42 am
Well, at the 11th hour I have decided to go to a Jaguar meet at Gaydon this morning.

Taking the camera, so pics to follow.....

No intention of swapping my car, unless someone wants to do one on a nice little F-type, or E Type!!!

I use a Canon 5DSR - 50m pixels, with various Pro lenses. Bought with some of that PPI money!

Shooting in RAW and using Lightroom to edit.

That last pic is the concept car for the XF - not all the design elements appeared in the original XF, but the facelift one is very similar. A shame the larger bonnet vents and handleless doors never made production.

An iPhone will create great results due to the software they now run. They get rid of that horrid yellow tungsten hue.

Was only joking, Dude.

My Mrs has some fancy camera .. but rarely uses the thing, and never downloads the photos !!!

Anyway, that modern big MG coupe (the gold one - forgot the name) .. I used to live near someone that had one ... actually pretty impressive in the flesh - pity you don't see more around.

Whats the deal with them - V8 ?

That was back when MG Rover bought Qvale.....

The MG SV was, underneath, a Qvale Mangusta

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Qvale_Mangusta

Connection with MG[edit]

In the summer of 2000, after BMW had sold the MG Rover Group to the Phoenix Consortium, Bruce Qvale contacted one of the Consortium directors, Nick Stephenson, and proposed forming a European distribution deal for the Qvale Mangusta. Soon after, Stephenson and his colleagues began to consider the possibility of using the Mangusta platform to develop a high-performance halo car to grow the MG brand.

On February 28, 2001, Stephenson and his colleague Peter Beale began negotiations with Qvale Modena to purchase Mangusta production assets. A contract was drawn, and on June 19 of that year, the announcement was made that the deal was complete (with account reports indicating that the price was £7 million.)

Under the MG Rover group, the Qvale Mangusta platform was developed into the MG XPower SV.

Oh - and a bit of trivia - can anyone tell what car the SVs headlights are from.....?

Great pics Huge!

All cars lovely....except that strange coloured XFR, 59 plate. Urgh!
