I once took out the entire network to two of our dealers. I was in the comms room and pulled out the wrong cable. That was at a previous job.

Alongside the switch pictured there are many more. One could have fun turning everything off and scarpering.

Hehe! Nah, nobody knew about that one. Well, my mate did but yeah.
I probably came closest to losing my job waaaay back in 2001ish when I crashed a Lexus IS200 at work. That was...awkward.

I wasnt. I was barely out of the forecourt to be honest. It's scary to think what might have happened had I got to the main road. I accelerated down the road, took the bend, hit something wet/oily, back end came out...and as a 18 year old, I had no idea how to control it and it ended up going backwards into a metal fence.
It wasn't a write off though! I think cos it was practically a new car, despite the extensive damage.

Difference is now that we are older - we know how to control it, but we’re too old and slow to actually do it Smile

Accidents happen and if they had fired you they'd be on very dodgy ground.

I wouldn't have appealed it. I was absolutely devastated and massively embarrassed. I couldn't look anyone in the eye for a long time.
I think it's what turned me into the mundane person I am. I used to think about 'what if' I'd gone onto the proper roads and hit a car or a person? I've never lost control of any car like that since.

Accidents happen though. In a business that involves driving cars having a crash is an occupational hazard. Assuming you weren't driving dangerously or trying to be clever then it is just one of those things. You shouldn't have been so hard on yourself.
