Same colour as my mate Bills one. It was running fine until his burd drove it over a massive pot hole and it must have caught the sump and put a hole in it as a few miles down the road it seized up Mad

Not sure if he got an engine yet or not?! Neutral

Well; arrived home in the new Roadster about an hour ago. As soon as I had some food, my wife wanted to go out in it (passenger!). She mastered the art of getting in and was amazed how good the ride is - much much better than the ForTwo! I was very worried what she would make of it, and she really likes it!!!

I made the 95 mile drive home going along the A303 and up past Longleat, before taking the "Mendip Motorway" up over the hills and home. Some lovely twisty roads along the way. Now, the Smart isn't the fastest, but it carries the speed into the bends beautifully, and feels like its going much faster than it is - probably to do with the fact that it's not quite 4 feet high.

So, first impressions - it's great!

Fantastic!

(and agreed, the ride is better than one would expect for a small go-karty thing!)

I took the Roadster over to a specialist about 25 miles away - it's going in on Thursday for some checks; the flappy paddles currently don't work (or the horn) and it needs a new top crank breather hose - it's leaking oil at the moment. There's a hose, rather than a hose with a one way valve on!! Rather annoying, but there you go. The end of the hose (crank end) has a split which is letting oil / vapour out. I'm not running it very far until it's sorted.

There's a slight water leak on the roof / wing mirror - I've ordered a waterproof cover that can be kept on there when driving. It only take 2 mins to remove. I did get an hour or so to attack it with the DA polisher - the paintwork has a few bodged areas that can perhaps be done properly in due course. The rear near side panel had a poor paint job, but the polisher has blended it in nicely. I understand it does't cost too much to get them wrapped.

It's a real fun car. Also checked, and it's got winter tyres on. Bearing in mind it will only do about 5k mile a year, this might be a good thing!
