Wheels no round

on Mon Aug 20, 2018 8:16 pm
I assume the wheels were not round anyway. Cause I left it standing for 3 weeks.

Going along the motorway up to 60 smooth pushed it up to 65 ouch some vibration...

So I drove at 60 just about all the way. Parked.. wheels after 8 hours sitting are round again.. Took the slow route but had it up to around 85 mph - smooth as a button again, or a babies bottom if you are a bishop.. opps...

hehe

I suspect tyre pressures may have a bit to do with it Mogs.

Cold morning, soft tyres, bit wibbly wobbly.

8hrs sitting warms the earth, air in tyres and roadway... Heat creates more pressure, harder tyres less distortion and less likely for the sidewalls to be out of whack...

Great explanation, thanks. Was sitting in the cool and dark for a while then parked on the road in sun for more than a bit to fix it. Cool.

I think I did the air thing when I put the summer wheels on the car in April only 2 months to go and they will be off and the winters on. So should be ok. It's crazy like summer at the moment. Hard to believe only 2 months and one week and it's November.
