How long ???

on Wed Sep 26, 2018 10:10 pm
Is it considered reasonable before I look to change the Audi

Got a craving for something not German - and quite possibly an Alfa Romeo

Giulia or Golf GTi ?

If it's going to be the "cheap" car, how about a 147 GTA?

I think I'd want a Giulia to depreciate a bit more before I bought one - they're still quite expensive, and aside from the Quadriwotsit are they really that special?

Mégane RS?
Impreza?

Yeah, a Guilia needs to depreciate a bit more, yet.

I think....a new Mitsubshi Mirage '3' for £179 deposit and £179 for 42 months.

I have considered leasing ..... it’ll stop me changing my car every 2 minutes !!!

For the record I love the A3 - something about driving a car that you’re not too bothered about .... and also I get a strange satisfaction from the ‘yes, my car is worth a lot less than yours - but it’s paid for’

Not bad a diesel for donkeys years - and I quite like it - instant power, and surprisingly quiet ... also feels absolutely bullet proof !!!

This A3 also makes you realise - what is the preoccupation with everyone making their cars ride harder and stiffer all the time ..... much more pleasant to be in than my last 2 BMW’s !!!

It’s simple - money is what I want at this time -probably more than some fancy car !!!

I want my cake - and to eat it though.

I think my petrol head is sleeping ....

Biggest reason I got rid of the BMW - I saw £14k sat in the drive - that was soon to be £10k - then £8k ......

I’m trying to kid myself otherwise - but until I reach my goal of more financial security and independence - fancy cars are a one night stand that I realise doesn’t satisfy me.

However - of course there is a trade off - i’m trying to tread that line - a nice car at sensible outgoings - the BMW also felt like a money pit waiting

What about trying to run an older nice car that might appreciate?

Don't know what I have in mind here, I like the 1985 shape BMW 5 series for instance.

How about a cashpoint car? Nothing more than a "few hundred quid". A nice late-90's Mondeo/Vectra. Wink

Quite enjoying my old Audi at this second ... surprisingly quick, quiet and refined ... also nice to run around town in a car I don't stress about.

I know what you mean. I'm happy with my car, would like an older one actually without some of the tech that's rubbish.. hehe

I love the 4 wheel drive. I love the air conditioning. I don't really miss the acceleration that is definitely missing.

Seriously if I was to come back the UK and sell this one, I would probably be looking for a Dacia Duster. Really that would be fine for me.
